Summer Staffing Positions

There are lots of ways to serve with JP during the summer. Staffing with JP provides you with an opportunity to grow as a leader, invest in the lives of students, and to make life-long friends! We have a unique staffing model in that we have a new staff each week for our summer work camps.

Note: All staff are required to attend staff training which begins on the Saturday before the camp week begins.

  • The Camp Director (CD) oversees all aspects of the work camp experience while guiding and supporting the staff in living into their specific roles. The CD is responsible for much of the administrative tasks associated with running a work camp. 


    CD requirements: 1 week commitment (8 days) Must have completed 12th grade. CDs report to camp by 10am on Saturday of staff training. The purpose of this is to meet your ACD and begin preparing for your week by reviewing documents and accomplishing other administrative tasks.  A stipend will be provided (more details are available on the application).


  • The ACD will work closely with the Camp Director (CD) to assist with administrative tasks associated with running a work camp.  ACD's perform general responsibilities in camp such as planning and giving a 5-10 minute devotional one morning, leading a worksite for the first part of the day, helping out with evening programs as needed, completing daily in-camp chores, and more.  The ACD is second in charge and will, at times, fill the role of CD when the CD is not available.


    ACD requirements: 1 week commitment (8 days) ACDs report to camp by 10 am on Saturday of staff training. The purpose of this is to meet your CD and begin preparing for your week by reviewing documents and accomplishing other administrative tasks. You must have completed 12th grade by summer 2024.   • The WL is responsible for leading others into worship during the morning devotional times as well as evening program. The WL performs several other general responsibilities in camp such as planning and giving a 5-10 minute devotional one morning and is expected to work the first half of the day leading a worksite, returning after lunch to prepare for the evening program. 


    WL Requirements: 1 week commitment (8 days) Must have completed 12th grade by summer 2024. You must arrive to staff training on Saturday by 12 PM. A stipend will be provided (more details are available on the application).



  • The RL is in charge of all things recreational in camp. One important aspect of this is planning, promoting, and refereeing the water balloon volleyball tournament. This includes making, posting, and filling-in the tournament bracket and ensuring that water balloons are filled in time for the games. RL will organize games and activities* (Frisbee, etc.) during the campers' free time. RL may be asked to assist the Program Director lead a game or other activity during evening program. The RL perform general responsibilities in camp such as planning and giving a 5-10 minute devotional one morning, leading a work site all day, helping out with evening programs as needed, completing daily in-camp chores, and more. * lists of suggested games and activities will be provided to assist in this role*


    RL Requirements: 1 week commitment (8 days) Must have completed 12th grade by summer 2024. You must arrive to staff training on Saturday by 12 PM. A stipend will be provided (more details are available on the application).



  • The ML is responsible for taking pictures in camp and at work sites for the purposes of making the daily slide show. The ML will create the daily slide shows and is also responsible for running the computer during evening program using MediaShout*.  The ML will perform general responsibilities in camp such as planning and giving a 5-10 minute devotional one morning, leading a worksite for the first part of the day, visiting the work sites to take pictures of the work teams the second half of the day, creating a daily slide show, helping out with evening programs as needed, completing daily in-camp chores, and more. *training videos on MediaShout will be provided before your arrival in camp*


    ML Requirements: 1 week commitment (8 days)  Must have completed 12th grade by summer of 2024. You must arrive to staff training Saturday by 12 PM.  A stipend will be provided (more details are available on the application).

  • J Staffers' primary responsibility is to work alongside the Tool/Site Coordinator to assist with tools, lumber, and helping set up the work sites each morning and organize tools at the end of each work day. J. Staffers serve on the work site, participate in JP skits and fun activities, engage with JP campers, help facilitate community fun, goof-off with campers and basically help make a JP week awesome!. 


    J. Staff Requirements: 1 week commitment (8 days), Must be a current 10th, 11th or 12th grader. There are two slots each week for our awesome J Staffers to serve along with our leadership team. You must arrive for staff training on Saturday at 12 PM. A stipend will be provided (more details are available on the application).


  • The K. Staff will prepare and provide breakfast and dinner for each camp week of about 75 campers and staff.  You will also assist in setting up lunch prep (campers pack their own lunch!) and other kitchen duties (dishes, serving meals etc.).


    K. Staff Requirements: 1 week commitment (8 days)  Must have completed 10th grade.  You must arrive to staff training by 12 PM on Saturday. A stipend will be provided (more details are available on the application).


  • As the TCA, you will provide consistent support to the Tool/Site Coordinator as it relates to worksites and tools. You will work closely with the TC and the Camp Director to assist in executing day-to-day operations.  You will most likely serve as a site leader each day (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and offer support to the TC as it relates to assistance with tools, materials & supplies, and coordination of work sites.

    TCA Requirements: 1 week commitment (8 days). Must have completed 12th grade. Arrive to staff training by 12 PM on Saturday before camp starts. A stipend will be provided (more details are on the application).
